Thunderbird 38.4.0 Release update channel Win7 I've used Thunderbird for over 10 years.

When I use select-drag-drop inside a new message I get a copy instead of a move.

Problem started sometime within the last few months. None of my other document editing software exhibit this behavior.

When editing an email that already has some text or images, I want to move any images or text around within the new message with select-drag-drop. This used to work but for some reason has started copying instead of moving the selection.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. John in Medford Oregon

To diagnose problems with Thunderbird, try the following Restart Thunderbird with add-ons disabled (Thunderbird Safe Mode). On the Help menu, click on "Restart with Add-ons Disabled". If Thunderbird works like normal, there is an Add-on or Theme interfering with normal operations. You will need to re-enable add-ons one at a time until you locate the offender.

Thanks. It was one of the add-ons that I had edited to work for me ... insert link from local file. I'll have to see if I can fix that.

I really like the idea of drag-drop link to local file so LAN users can access the file or folder easily.
