If Firefox is opened for awhile it starts to show flashing black patches all over the browser including User Interface and web pages.I have tried Disabling Hardware Acceleration , OMTC = False , Re-Installing etc.

But still problem exists , its a pretty old problem too (at least 2-3 years old) but lately its happening quit a lot. Every time it happens I have to End task and restart my Firefox, which is not an ideal solution. I tried to do this on Chrome (kept it opened with multiple tabs for several hours) it didn't show any problems, so that rules out any problem with my Graphics/CPU.

Also my Adobe Flash plugin crashes a lot but again in Chrome no trouble. Please resolve this issue as I HATE using Chrome and want to stick to Firefox...please reply

If you have problems with current Shockwave Flash plugin versions then check this:

  • see if there are updates for your graphics drivers

https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration

  • disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)

https://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493#TemporaryWorkaround

  • disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

I have done all of these things. please read my first comment. All my drivers and plugins are up to date. Disabling Hardware Acceleration also does not help with the BLACK SQUARES, only thing it does is makes the text look funny on some websites e.g www.Behance.com

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe web sites. Is the problem still there?

So far its all normal in safe mode. Browser is been opened for more than a day and no sign of any problem. I hope now you can pin point the root cause of the problem (i.e black boxes in normal mode) and let me know. Does it have to do with Add-ons?

Which Safe Mode, the computer or Firefox?

Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes). If the problem goes away, that tells us one thing. If it does not, that tells us something else.

It could be the work of one of your add-ons. Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control>(Mac=<Command>)<Shift> A)

In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select Extensions. Disable a few add-ons, then Restart Firefox.

Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause Firefox issues. Disable All of them.

If the problem continues, disable some more (restarting FF). Continue until the problem is gone. After, you know what group is causing the issue. Re-enable the last group ONE AT A TIME (restarting FF) until the problem returns.

Once you think you found the problem, disable that and re-enable all the others, then restart again. Let us know who the suspect is detective.

Ya forgot to mention that ,its FF Safe mode. I'm uploading a screen capture with all the FF Extensions/Add-ons that I've installed. Can you guide me if these look unsafe or problematic. Thanks
