I need to amend my settings so F/F will REMEMBER passwords. Having trouble understanding the steps. Need a "walk-thru" with a tech.
When I set up F/F, I opted to not have any passwords rememered. Now, I can see that was a mistake and when I read the instructions on how to reset that, I just can't understand what they are saying so I need some help, and thanks. "If you later change your mind and would like Firefox to ask you to save usernames and passwords for this site, you'll need to go into your Firefox Options and remove the site's entry from the Security panel exceptions list." I believe I did that for my Yahoo account. When I tried to log in, after removing it from the list, there was no prompting me as to whether or not I wanted F/F to remember it. Naturally, I can't check the box "Remember logins for sites". Not that it matters but I am using a Surface Pro3 with Windows 10.

Firefox won't offer to store passwords when you are in (permanent) Private Browsing mode.
Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode (Always use Private Browsing mode; never remember history).
- Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"
- Deselect: [ ] "Always use Private Browsing mode"
You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History > Show All History" or "View > Sidebar > History") or via the about:permissions page.
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious. If you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.
You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of the involved files.
If you revisit a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.
