Why do some of my folders show up when Thunderbird is first started but then disappear (all except inbox & deleted folders) after a few seconds? If you try to subscribe to folders the tick boxes are not accepted?

lots of folk, not all Thunderbird, complaining. No answer except a suggestion that right click the account and select settings In server settings select the advanced button Deselect the show only subscribed folders.

Any better?

Matt, I have found this suggested temporary solution since my original post. It does solve the problem but there needs to be a fix (patch) for this glitch?
