mailto opening multiple browsers

Hello, Clicking a mail to link/icon etc. is causing my entire browser to crash - it opens up multiple windows and I lose the pages I was one, and can't do anything. This is a nightmare for a marketers - especially in the age of social media where it's all about sharing things. It's as bad as not being able to connect to Twitter or Facebook from Firefox. I may be able to fix this for myself, but what about the thousands and thousand of people I'm marketing to and asking to take this action? It's like spreading a virus - some people will think it's malware that I'm spreading. Can you guys fix this? It's a huge problem. Thanks

That Bug report was RESOLVED WORKSFORME - the user who filed that Bug fixed his "mailto" configuration parameter and solved his issue.

What is mailto set to use in the Applications tab of Preferences?
