Hello,

The issue has been happening for a while where basically I am running Firefox on Windows just fine, then at some point maybe it crashes (or it goes really slow and I close all the sessions), I can see some processes in my task manager (which I kill), but then... when I try to relaunch it, it doesn't load.

I can see that the icon becomes highlighted, like it's trying to load, the process is created in the task manager and stays there, but the window never appears (the icon loses the highlight and goes back to normal but the process stays in my task manager - which I can kill manually again).

This is always fixed by rebooting the computer, but sometimes I've got quite a lot of things opened and it's quite time consuming to have to do this so often now...

Any idea, what I could try to see if I can launch it again without having to restart?

Thanks!!

Check the Windows Task Manager > Processes tab for a 'hung' firefox.exe process or maybe a 'hung' plugin-container.exe process or processes.

Longshot. Do you try to clear history etc automatically when Fiefox closes ? Or are you using the ordinary default setting that retains History.

I'm using the standard default settings, never changed anything...

Thanks for the idea of looking for 'plugin-container.exe', I'll have a look next time it happens. I had to reboot again today as I needed Firefox and I couldn't do anything.

If anyone has any other suggestion please let me know and I'll give it a go next time!

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) to see if that has effect.
