Firefox 44.0.2 automatically reinstalls itself on a computer restart after being uninstalled. All Mozilla folders have also been removed from the computer users folders. Previously, version 44.0.2 would automatically revert back to version 43 after a restart. This happening on a Windows 7 OS that is completely up to date. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Thank you.

What you describe is not a feature of Firefox.

Whilst I do not use Windows & that much I would also say it is not a Windows 7 feature.

I guess you have security related & / Or backup software installed that is doing this. Is this your own computer you are asking about ?

Of course you may not be uninstalling Firefox properly. Are you sure you do wish to remove Firefox ? It probably does not take up much space or resources whilst installed. It may be useful having a backup browser even if you have chosen some other browser as the default browser. If you are uninstalling these are the instructions

  • Firefox automatically reverts back to v43.0.4 from v44.0.2 on a Windows 7 OS after a reboot or restart. A clean reinstall of Firefox did not help. /questions/1109480
