This is for Thunderbird. I had 7 or 8 email addresses set up in the "Home" tab. In each address directory I had numerous emails listed. Most of these emails relate to my business. After doing a Windows 7 update all these directories and the emails in them are totally gone - that is they don't seem to show.

I can still get my address book, saved files (mostly PDF's and JPG's), Activity Manager, Calendar, Tasks, etc., but all mail has dissappeared!

Is there someplace on my hard drive where they might be stored? One of my settings was to never delete from server - does that help answer this? I'm serious - I am missing 2-3 years of messages that I often refer back to.

IE: My folder pane is totally empty.

Hey, after 4 days of work I found the answer. I went to Options|Connection Settings|Use system proxy settings and changed to Auto-detect proxy settings for this network.

I hope this helps somebody else - I still do not know how that got changed in the first place.
