Why is Thunderbird marking unread messages as read causing me to miss important emails?
i'm using IMAP and emails from my server are being marked as read before I read them. The Gmail accounts within Thunderbird don't seem to have this problem. I thought it might be my phone so I deleted my accounts off my phone and still have the issue. Please advise.

Perhaps caused by an addon. You can check by starting Thunderbird in safe mode per https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/safe-mode

No luck, still having the issue. Running Windows 7 64 bit
Any help would be appreciated, gotta be a solution out there.

You missed stating important information, namely what ISP for the non-gmail accounts.
