I successfully added another email account to my existing TB account using a password but whenever i open TB it always asks to enter a new password (does not loading any messages). I put in the same password (as used for setting up new account) but it does not work. Please help. Thanks

There is no such thing as a 'Thunderbird account'. You've set up an account with an email provider, e.g. Gmail or Yahoo. You told Thunderbird to retrieve/send mail for that account from/to your email provider's server.

What you added isn't clear at all.

  • a new account (with different password)?
  • an alias to an existing account (with the same password)?
using a password

You cannot set up an account without a password.

Who is the email provider for the new account?

Did you verify your password via webmail?

What are the server settings required by your email provider? Please post that information here, or just provide a link to your email provider's support site with that information.
