i am trying to get out of gmail and back into thunderbird and in tbird the dates are out of order

i had and enjoyed t-bird then switched to gmail they kept asking for login so i am returning to t-bird....now t-bird email dates are old and out of order and not correctly imported. How to fix that? i have 3 email addresses.

Click on "Date".

Or in the Menu, View|Sort by and you can see many sorting options.
