Setting xpinstall.signatures.required to false isn't working as of Firefox 48
I have a helper add-on made by me solely for my needs. It's "unverified" but I could enable it easily thanks to the "about:config > xpinstall.signatures.required > false" setting. However, now in Firefox 48, it got disabled, and changing the mentioned setting doesn't affect it.
How can I use my personal add-on again?

You can't use it in Firefox 49 or later unless you get it signed. That looks to be a bit of a project, but you can get help for it on the Add-ons forum:

It's simpler to defer the inevitable by switching to using the Extended Support Release of Firefox 45. More info on that version: https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/organizations/
Hello, yes the best way is to Signing your add-on. Another option (usually for developers) is to use an Unbranded Build. But again i think to signing your add-on is the best. :-)
thank you
I decided to stay stuck with Firefox 47.0.1 from now on.
Me too.
