How to open reply (the purple arrow)?
I reply to an eMail and a purple(?) arrow appears to the left of the original eMail's subject to indicate I sent a reply. But how to I open that reply without switching to a conversation view? I found an add-on that claimed to provide a "click the arrow and the reply opens" but it doesn't work.
Ideally, I'd like a keystroke that would open the reply in a new tab or window (don't really care which).
Maybe this is already part of TBird but I'm just overlooking the setting.
Assistance appreciated. Thanks!

Any email you send should be saved in your 'Sent' folder. As mentioned by you, you can also : right click on email in list and select to 'Open message in conversation'
You can also choose to save 'Sent' emails in the same folder as the original email. In which case, enabling threads should offer all communication. Setting up to store replies in same folder: 'Options' > 'Account Settings' > 'Copies & Folders' of mail account. OR right click on mail account in Folder Pane and select 'Settings' then select 'Copies & Folders' of mail account.
select: 'Place replies in the folder of the messge being replied to.' click on OK.

While there appears not to be the exact solution I was looking for (a keyboard shortcut for -just- the specific reply), Toad-Hall's reinforcement of "Open message in conversation" is reasonable and simple (and I'll remember Ctrl-Shift-O).
Thanks, Barry
