Hi,

I forced a shutdown using the power button when windows froze, Firefox was open. When I restarted the system my bookmarks and history were gone. -I can see the right number of bookmarks appear in "Restore" for earlier dates. -"Unable to process backup file" -Places maintenance says "Database is sane" "Next we'll do some cleanup" same result. -all add ons were disabled when attempting this. -all active logins still work and my search bar still has my search history

Places Maintenance is a good program. But it only scans the current files. Not the backups.

Have you tried using another backup file?

That was very good work. Well done. Please flag your last post as Solved Problem so others will know.

These add-ons can be a great help by backing up and restoring Firefox

FEBE (Firefox Environment Backup Extension) {web link} FEBE allows you to quickly and easily backup your Firefox extensions, history, passwords, and more. In fact, it goes beyond just backing up -- It will actually rebuild your saved files individually into installable .xpi files. It will also make backups of files that you choose.
