Why can't I see text colors in emails I send, and why don't hyperlinks look like hyperlinks?

If i use colored text in an e-mail, it doesn't appear colored. ( I sent an e-mail to myself, and color still doesn't appear in T'bird, but it does when I check that email in a different mailbox.) Same thing with hyperlinks: they don't appear as hyperlinks in T'bird but they look OK to the recipient .

Any ideas why? Is there a setting I can change?

Thanx in advance.

I can't really follow what you're doing. In any case, when composing in plain text, there is no color at all. Compose in HTML instead.

This is the way it works for plain text messages. I have no idea whether you'd see a link when composing in HTML.
