Error message when fetching emails.
Verizon has moved emails to AOL. I use Thunderbird to manage multiple accounts from Verizon. I have migrated these accounts to AOL without issue, I have also made changes to incoming and outgoing servers in Thunderbird. When I attempt to get any new emails the following error pops up:
An error occurred with the POP3 mail server. Mail server imap.aol.com responded:
What can I do to correct this issue?

User Name: full verizon email address Server Name: pop.aol.com Port: 995 Connection Security: SSL/TLS Authentication Method: Normal Password
this would be worth trying because you cannot use imap server settings on a pop mail account.
But according to the verizon/aol website info, it really should work with all the old server settings, but editing the stored password to the new one which you use to access webmail.

The error message is very clear. You have a pop mail account but have edited the server settings using the wrong details. You have used IMAP server settings on a pop mail account.
As far as the verizon website is concerned you do not need to update any server settings. It was simply a case of updating the password.

I have had those pages up on my browser. (Two copies now) I could not find any constructive help from those. I followed the directions given to me to change the settings, including port numbers which was imap.aol.com. Would changing the account settings from imap.aol.com to POP.AOL.com resolve the issue?

Thanks.
I did restore settings back to pop.verizon.net and things seem to be working. I guess I was doing too much,
