When browsing, how can I set Firefox to mark sites I have visited?

There used to be a facility that automatically marked sites I visited when browsing. Either this has been removed, or I have in some way disabled it. At present, if I choose to visit a site, when I return to my search results I often forget which I have already visited.

Hi   !
'Hope I'm right in assuming that when you get back to the page with search results, the links of sites you've visited haven't changed colour   (?)
Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode (Never remember history).

3-bar menu => Options => Privacy => Firefox will : 'Use custom settings for history' Uncheck : Always use Private Browsing mode

You can also check the layout.css.visited_links_enabled pref on the about:config page and make sure it has the default value :

Type in the address bar   about:config (promise to be careful, if asked) Type and look for the preference : layout.css.visited_links_enabled and make sure that it's value is set to   true

You could also try this add-on :
