Where have all my inbox folders and, for that matter, the inbox? All I have is one message, should have hundreds!

I stopped using Thunderbird several months ago because my log in stopped working. So have just been using gmail. I need to get back to Thunderbird, I changed my PW so now I can log in, but nothing of my old account is there. I have one message in inbox where I should have hundreds, and none of my folders to the left are there. I need the information in those folders.

The latest update, 52.1.1, seems to have some problem recognizing the existing profile file. I had the same problem and the profile is still on my computer in the proper location, but for some reason Thunderbird is not recognizing the location. Running the Troubleshooting help shows the profile file and all the mail and other files, but the program is just not recognizing it. I don't have a solution, though I'm still trying to find one. There doesn't seem to be anyway to contract Thunderbird directly, but I did post on their Facebook page.

There have been several reports of this today and the common thread is all use CCleaner software. It updated recently to ver. 5.31.6104 and it had problems. I just heard from one user that Piriform, I guess the software creator, knows there is a problem and issued fix.

Piriform late today posted a new update, 5.31.6105. Don't know if that fixes the issue or not. I set CCleaner to exclude the prefs.js file and unchecked all cleaning options for Thunderbird. So far (knock on wood) no further problems. Thanks again for all your help.
