I have stopped using Firefox as my browser because 90% of my sites are not accessible. I get an unsecure message and can't access any sites. Too bad for you and too bas for me since I really like your features. Much better than Microsoft Edge or IE.

What is the exact message?

You can check the date and time and time zone in the clock on your computer: (double) click the clock icon on the Windows Taskbar.

You can click the "Advanced" button to expand this section and show extra details. If the certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided (SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER) then click the blue error message to expand this section and show the certificate chain. Please click "Copy text to clipboard" and paste this base64 encoded certificate chain text in a reply. That will allow us to check details like the issuer of the certificate.

to Fred Your connection is not secure

The owner of connect.secure.wellsfargo.com has configured their website improperly. To protect your information from being stolen, Firefox has not connected to this website.

This site uses HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) to specify that Firefox may only connect to it securely. As a result, it is not possible to add an exception for this certificate.

to Fred and when I try the Advanced I get: connect.secure.wellsfargo.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown. The server might not be sending the appropriate intermediate certificates. An additional root certificate may need to be imported. Error code: SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER

to cor-el I read the same fixes as you and tried all of the ones I was comfortable doing. Of course I did the Time and date thing.

There is security software like Avast, Kaspersky, BitDefender and ESET that intercept secure connections and send their own certificate.

Have you tried the suggestions in this link that FredMcD gave you :

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-cant-load-websites-other-browsers-can

Like : 3-bar menu => Options => Advanced => Network tab => Settings and choose :   'No Proxy'   ?

Or : in   'about:config'   changing the value to the preference   'network.dns.disableIPv6'  to   'true'  ?

To Happy Just followed the steps again to no avail

Bummer   !!!

Just to make absolutely sure : After you chose 'No Proxy'   -   Did you click   'OK'   ?

to Happy Yes This has happened to me before. The last time I am not sure if I fixed it or if Firefox did it. I check every day to see if the problem is still there and I go onto Microsoft edge which I don't like nearly as much as I like Firefox. I have been using Firefox for many, many years

You should be able to click the SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER message on the error page. That will expand this section and show the certificate chain. When you copy the text to the clipboard and paste it in a reply then we can check the certificate.

The issuer of the certificate is "Digital Reflection Certificate Authority".

  • C=US, ST=Virginia, L=Reston, O=Digital Reflection, OU=Digital Reflection Certificate Authority, CN=Digital Reflection, emailAddress=support-team@digitalreflectionpanel.com

If you installed software from this company then you need to uninstall it or get a trusted root certificate.

Thank you. I will do it tomorrow. I am perplexed because I have had that running in the background for a long time and never had any issues.

If you have ever or recently refreshed Firefox or otherwise created a new profile then you can try to copy the cert8.db file from the "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop to the current profile folder.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.
