Hello,

Over the years, I have created a lot of subfolders for my emails. Sometimes I have a hard time finding a specific subfolder, because it might be placed under another subfolder. Is there any way I can search for subfolders ? And another question: often when I search for an email, the search will return wich subfolder the email is stored in. The problem is that the search does not reveal the full path to that subfolder, so I can't go back to my folders list and look for other emails in the same subfolder, unless I know where the subfolder is. Is there a smart way of searching for this ?

I have used the quickfoldermove add-on which provides a text-entry based search for folders whose names match what you type. It's most commonly used to move the selected message/s to the desired folder, but can also offer a "jump to" action.

ISTR I had some issues with that add-on, but I had started using the QuickFolders add-on which offers a similar capability, though the "move/jump to" is part of the premium (paid-for) feature set.

I see there is also this: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/thunderbird/addon/quick-folder-key-navigation/?src=api

If you right-click a message in a regular list window, there is (usually) an option to "open message in containing folder". If you use global search, then the "open email as list" button will present its findings in a list view which does have the "containing folder" option. Elsewhere, if you are not offered the "containing" option, try right-click, view in conversation where you will find the "containing" option.
