I configured TB's default fiew to show non-deleted emails. The setting is lost each time I close and reopen TB (portable version)
I configured the default TB (portable version) view to show non-deleted emails in my inbox, as well as added the "From:" column in the email list display. However, each time I close and reopen TB, these settings are lost, and I must reconfigure the view.
Why doesn't TB save the view configuration? I know it's a portable version. But, those settings should be saved in the TB portable directory, as is common with many portable versions of apps.
Any suggestions on how to configure TB portable to retain my view settings?
Thanks.

What I really was after was to get the deleted IMAP emails out of my inbox list. Being new to Firefox (old Outlook user) I thought I had to change View settings to accomplish this -- the way you do it in Outlook.
What I figured out was my moving the deleted emails to the Trash folder by configuring the email account's Server Settings, I could direct emails to the account's IMAP trash folder, thereby removing from the Inbox list.
Problem solved.

TB portable has some unique problems and support is offered as the portable apps support forum for the product. I suggest you ask there. But if you have ccleaner, it is known to delete Thunderbird settings files and might be a cuase.

The desktop client version behaves the same way. It's not a problem with just the portable versions.
