Has Firefox been sending out "Firefox Critital Updates Needed...Click here now" on my computer screen?
Hi: Last week I couldn't even log into Firefox. Now, after I'm in for awhile, my screen goes orange, a big Firefox creature comes on the screen and it says "Critical Firefox Update needed NOW!....click here to begin update". Then when I clicked on it, I get a warning screen saying for me not to download anything suspicious, or from an unknown source. When I looked at the source line, it says something weird. it does not say Firefox. It is from someone else I don't recognize. So I did NOT download this.
So my question is, is Firefox themselves sending out this critical update message, or is this just another scam?

Hey guys! If you get something across your screen that says "Firefox Critical Update....click here!", DON'T DO IT!!!! IT IS A MALWARE SCAM! Instead, hit "cancel" and get out of there!
I asked Firefox.com and they said that Firefox automatically does updates and will NEVER ask anyone to download an update!
Thankfully, I had a malware protection program that told me to "beware, this is not a protected site". Also, note the originator. If it doesn't have a name you recognize, NEVER download it! It may infect your computer!
