We want to use Firefox as our digital display application for kiosks at our businesses. How can we prevent Firefox from upgrading as it may cause issues?

We are using Firefox as a digital signage player on kiosks and have built a solution that works with a specific version of Firefox. How can we prevent Firefox from upgrading as we have set every option to turn off auto-updates, however Firefox continues to update which brings down our signage network.

..... we have set every option to turn off auto-updates.

Does that include unchecking 'Use a background service to install updates' in Advanced => Update tab => under 'Show Update History' ?

Another thing to check :

Type in the address bar about:config (press Enter) (promise to be careful, if asked) Type and look for the preference : app.update.auto and make sure its value is set to false

You can also set this pref to an empty string to prevent Firefox from connecting to the update server.
