How Do I Dowgrade AND Stay Downgraded?
MY Firefox upgraded to v57 yesterday and I knew straight away I hated it, but put up with it until it was taking an eternity to display images on the likes of eBay and also nt photo hosting service.
Also, I could no longer pay for goods via PayPal. I got as far as the page with the merchant' logo at the top of the screen, but apart from a white box, there was nothing else on screen. You broke it!
v56 worked fine! That was until I downgraded to v56 and that had also stopped letting me pay via Paypal, (IE was fine BTW).
Anyhow, I ended up finishigoff the transaction via mobile Firefox, which still worked thank god (for now at least).
But guess what? I launched Firefox this morning (v56) and the update wimdow popped up sayin git was updating Firefox!
How can this happen when I ticked/checked "Never check for updates (not recommended)"?
Now I'm back with this PODS and want to downgrade to v56 permanently.
Also, why is the menu bar a light colour? I want it dark if I'm forced to use v57 so is there an way to do that?
THemes don't seem to work!

If you still want to downgrade, look under; I still want to downgrade. Click the Directory of other versions and languages link. Look for the directory of the version that you want. But, remember that old versions may have security issues.

Update : It isn't completely possible to use the Australis design with Firefox 57, but depending on what you want, you might be able to customize the UI to look more like the old one:
This project: https://github.com/wilfredwee/photon-australis lets you have the old tab bar appearance back in Firefox 57. You can remove the space around the address bar by right-clicking on the spaces, and choosing "remove from toolbar".
Here's a more comprehensive project which affects not only tabs but brings back the old "grid-style" options menu.

Note the Black Theme is a example and is in Customize
