Unnecessary "could not connect to mail server" messages when not connected
Sometimes my computer is not connected to the internet. During this time I constantly get a million popups saying "could not connect to mail server".
Is there anyway to disable these popups? I know I'm offline because my computer is offline.

Close your email client.
Or switch off all the options to collect email message downloads automatically and by schedule.
