One of the intentions of forwarding is that you can pass on the original message verbatim, so that its provenance can be demonstrated, perhaps to make it clear the words are not your own. So including this information can be useful. Surely this text is just included in the message body, so what's stopping you from just selecting and deleting it? It's usually presented as a table, and it can be useful to know how to delete this table. Click in it, select '''Format|Table '''and the menu will offer an option to delete the table. Another approach would be to right-click the original message and select Edit As New. This will open the message in a compose window, without the from/to/date/subject parts, but it will retain the original addressing in the from and to boxes. So you still have to select and delete this text. And yet another approach; you could simply copy and paste the text of the original message into a new message, taking full control over what is and isn't included. There is yet another thing that can be useful, though not exactly relevant to your query. Sometimes you might want to pass on a message unchanged, perhaps because it would be better handled by someone else. The Mail Redirect addon allows you to send the message on to another email address, where it will arrive appearing as if the sender had addressed it that way themselves.
