I would like to set the font size of the emails that I send. At present the only choice is small, normal, large and huge. Normal is too small and large is too big. I use gmail and my PC runs Windows 10 Pro.

Hi, since Firefox is not a email client what are you using please ?

If using Thunderbird please see it's Support Page : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/products/thunderbird

David_Dundas are you using a e-mail client?

Hi PavelkoT I guess my email client is the software that I use to manage my emails; in my case it is Firefox and I am signed up to gmail which I understand is my Mail Transfer Agent.

Firefox is browser. Browser in the most cases doesn't responce for font sizes of websites. There is important mainly difference between browser and e-mail client. E-mail client has own interface for e-mail and works with e-mails directly (without urls).

So, you must follow to Gmail support (Google) to get a solution. :)

Its not the font size of websites that I would like to adjust, its the font size of Firefox which seems very inflexible. At present the choice is "small, normal, large and huge" it would be better if I could set the point size as you can in a word processor

The font size in Firefox you can change :

Options => General => under 'Language' => Fonts & Colors => Size

Those are Gmail's font settings ......

Like Pkshadow and PavelkoT already explained :

The font size in Gmail is determined by the site itself - Firefox is a browser and can't change those settings.

Would you take a look at this article please - you may find a way to change the font to the size of your choice :

Thanks for the suggestions. OK so its gmail that sets the font size, not Firefox, so I did read through the makeuseof article, which is interesting but confirms that gmail only has 4 font sizes, expressed as small, normal, large and huge. I know that the size that I chose for an email is the one that the recipient sees because sometimes they forward my email back to me to continue the conversation and it comes back the same size that I wrote it in.

Maybe I should chose an email app that gives more flexibility in the font size, if so, can you suggest one?
