Quantum 60.1,, 64bit version, on Win7, 64. I am in Germany. Periodically, i cannot access Google.com, or search in the FF search field, which is set to search on Google. If i go directly to a website, its fine. Also, if i search for google.de, its fine. No problem using another browser. I would love to get to the bottom of this. thanks

Maybe do a malware scan.

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.

Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.

Make sure you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.

Hi, can try a Reinstall : uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files , C:\Program Files(x86) & C:\ProgramData Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's(Win10) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 60.0.1 with a Full Version Installer

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Did you try a malware scan?

You can check the connection settings.

  • Options/Preferences -> General -> Network: Connection -> Settings

If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then try to select "No Proxy" if "Use the system proxy settings" or one of the others do not work properly.

See "Firefox connection settings":
