When I click (or right-click) on the Bookmarks Menu icon, 'Show All Bookmarks' does not display as an option.
I'm trying to restore my bookmarks per your instructions, but when I click on the Bookmarks Menu icon, "Show All Bookmarks" isn't offered as an option.
What do I do now? Are my bookmarks irrevocably lost? (Use Vista on my home PC.)

HI, mouse to the top of the Browser to a empty spot and Right Click, Turn on Menu Bar. You will find it now.
Please remove your Flash 9.0 r124 I have never seen a security risk worse than this. https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html
Reinstall Flash http://get.adobe.com/ version : 30.0.0.113 There will be other things offered for Windows
Firefox 52 still has the combined star and "Show your bookmarks" button on the Navigation Toolbar that was replaced by the star in the page action menu/container and a separate icon for the Bookmarks Menu drop-down list that could be added via the Library menu. You can left-click "Show your bookmarks" to open the drop-down list.
The "Show your bookmarks" drop-down list should have "Show All Bookmarks" at the top or at the bottom of the list. Alternatively there is the Bookmarks menu on the menu bar like posted above.
If the Flash uninstaller doesn't find that old Flash 9.0 plugin then you can find the installation path of all plugins on the about:plugins page.

The option "Show All Bookmarks" displayed from the navigation, but nothing came up--all my bookmarks are lost (maybe; they might be backed up on a thumb drive, now that I think about it).
Do you have backups in the bookmarkbackups folder?
- Bookmarks -> Show All Bookmarks -> Import & Backup -> Restore
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database (bookmarks and history) in the Firefox profile folder.
- use "Verify Integrity" on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page

If "Verify Integrity" on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page cannot repair places.sqlite then remove all places.sqlite files in the Firefox profile folder. Firefox will rebuild places.sqlite and restore the bookmarks from a recent JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder.
- keep a backup copy of places.sqlite in case a new places.sqlite database has to be created

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.
