Is TB searching for email domain instead of server domain?

more options

I have just set up a new email account sh@sh.com.au (not its real name) and the server name (both incoming and outgoing) is cpxxx@ezyreg.com I can't receive emails - the sender receives a message along the lines of "can't find sh.com.au". I also can't send emails - I get a message along the lines "this is a temporary problem. Please try again later." I've had this problem for several days now so I don't think it is temporary. I have attached a screenprint of the SMTP settings. I have also attached a screenprint of the Account Settings and I think it provides a clue. In the Account Settings, the SMTP Server is described as "sh@sh.com.au - cpxxx@ezyreg.com". My mail provider is Netregistry (that's the ezyreg.com domain). My ISP is Belong but they don't provide email. My antivirus software is McAfee Total Protection and I use its Firewall. My computer is running Windows 7. I am using Thunderbird 60.6.1 (32-bit).

I hope you can help. I searched through about 16 pages of support answers that I thought might have been relevant, but with no success.

Thanking you in anticipation,

Shirley

You clearly have a DNS problem. That has got nothing to do with Thunderbird or any email server settings.

While it's recommended not to post email addresses to a public forum, from your obscured description it's not clear to me what's your real email server name, and your actual domain name (in case this actually is your own domain), and I'm not going to guess.

You should contact your hosting provider or whoever maintains the DNS record for your domain.
