Just curious why Firefox can't render Daily Mail and sometimes other websites correctly. Exact same pages render perfectly in Opera, Edge and Chrome but not Firefox. Text and images overlap and fail to load and if I take this same webpage and place it in another browser, any browser, it renders just fine. Why?

Looks like an issue with font.

Type about:preferences#content<enter> in the address bar. Across from fonts and colors, press the Advanced button. On the bottom, turn on Allow Web Sites To Choose Their Own.

Thanks for the suggestion but that was already turned on.

This can happen when content is blocked by Tracking Protection or otherwise. You still see the loading messages for these containers, but their content isn't loaded.

Firefox shows an highlighted shield icon at the left end of the location/address bar in case Tracking Protection is blocking content.

  • click the shield icon for more details and possibly disable the protection

You can check in the Web Console what content is blocked

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block content.

Dear Cor-el,

thanks for the suggestion I will play around today with the settings of uBlock and the shield to see if it makes any difference.
