Make Firefox display raw RSS instead of downloading it
For work, I need to look at raw RSS feeds, i.e., the "code" that begins with <rss xmlns:a10="http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom" version="2.0">.
I'm trying to use Firefox for work, but when I try to visit these raw feeds, Firefox tried to download the feed instead of just showing it, like literally every other browser. How do I get Firefox to just show the raw data instead of wanting to download it?

Take a gander at the various RSS extensions that are available from AMO. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search/?q=RSS
Prefix the link with the view-source: protocol.

Tried several. None of them served up raw code.

That works, but it's a hassle. Any idea why this is the case? I don't have this problem with any other browser. Why would Firefox assume someone wants to *download* the RSS?
It's frustrating because I spent a couple hours setting up Firefox to be my work browser, and now I have to jump through extra hoops just to do something simple that every other browser knows how to do all by itself.
Do you know if there's any way I can make Firefox do this automatically?

There are extensions that can force to open a file in Firefox instead of downloading.

That doesn't actually open the RSS in the browser from the server. It just downloads the RSS then uses Firefox to read it instead of a text editor.

I'm aware of that, but that support related to using Firefox as an RSS reader, which is not what I'm trying to do. I'm just trying to see the raw code of the RSS. The suggestion upthread that I use view-source:https:// does work. I was just hoping I wouldn't have to do this extra step. In pretty much every other browser in the world, I can just visit the URL of the raw feed, and see it. This is something I need to do on a regular basis — multiple times a day. I was hoping to make Firefox my work browser, but I guess I'll have to abandon that idea unless I want to go through the extra step of manually editing the URL to include view-source every single time.
