Using same Mozilla login for 4+ years, I can only see bookmark backups from thismonth,are bookmarks not saved within my mozilla profile so I can acess anywhere?
I have been changing my hardware a lot, and do clean installs of windows 2x a year anyway. I just went looking for some old pages that I bookmarked. I only have bookmarks, and bookmark backups from this month. I have always been able to, in the past, login to my mozilla account on firefox through another computer and access all of my bookmarks, same on my mobile. I am trying not to panic. Are bookmarks not stored within the mozilla account? I cannot fathom that. Well thank goodness they all appear to be on my mobile, why would they not be on my PC? What would I have to do to make all of the bookmarks that are on my phone show up on my PC? Thank you for your time and experience.

Firefox will only create a backup if there is a change in the current bookmarks. (add, delete, edit . . .)
Bookmark Backups Settings
Firefox automatically makes backups of the bookmarks. These are stored in the bookmarkbackups folder. You can set how many backups are kept by doing this;
Type about:config<enter> in the address bar. If a warning screen comes up, press the I Accept the Risk button. At the top of the screen is a search bar. Type browser.bookmarks.max_backups
The values for this setting are;
-1 = unlimited number of backups
0 = Do not create any backups
Any other number here will keep that many backups
Example: 5 = 5 backups are kept.
The backups are stored in a jsonlz4 file named something like this;
bookmarks-2016-06-29_1424_enD1GTHya0JmicnYWg4V4g ==.jsonlz4
In this example; 2016-06-29 = date created,
1424 = number of entries.
If you think there is a problem,
If you have sync, and there is a problem anywhere, Shut Down Sync Immediately On All Devices to prevent the problem from spreading. Once the problem is fixed, perform the same repair on all computers/profiles before using sync again.
[v57+] Places Maintenance is built into Firefox.
Type about:support<enter> in the address bar.
You will find Places Database near the bottom. Press the Verify Integrity button.
When done, copy and post the results here.
