The Firefox App for Android displays a pop up notification when a website request the users location. Is there a global setting to STOP all of these notification? I do not want to ever share my location to a website.

I am aware of Mozilla Location Services option in the settings and this is unchecked. I can stop location request on Firefox for windows in the settings, why can't I do it on my phone.

It seams that more and more websites are using this feature and this is just another annoyance from web browsers that I do not want.

There is a global setting for your location in the Android settings (App permissions) where you can allow applications access to your location.

Did you look there under Firefox ?

I have checked the "App permissions" for Firefox in the App settings on my phone, location is and has been denied since I installed Firefox.

If Firefox won't give me a setting for this, then I would like to know what to change in about:config

Hi Farcry

Do you have an example of a site where this is happening?

I have just tried to open Google Maps in the new Firefox Preview browser and I have a message asking to allow Google to use my location. I can allow or not allow and also have the site remember this for future visits.

I think you are missing my point. I realize I can allow or deny a request for my location. I want a global setting that does not reset/clear when I delete cookies and site settings. I consider any website notification or pop up invasion and detrimental to my user experience. It's the same thing with auto-play videos and push notifications.

Hi

The idea of the notification is to give peopel the control over their privacy without losing functionality. If you ar very careful, you could set the about:config setting geo.enabled to false, but please appreciate that this may cause some sites to break.
