Android Mozilla Add-ons
Hello, i tried installing some add-ons on the new browser but the installation was blocked citing incompatibility issues . I recently used these add-ons on the previous version of firefox but now you only allow certain extensions to be installed and blacklisting others without firefox digital signatures. I understand that there might be a security risk but you are limiting the advanced users on this. Allow modification of addons by the user without any kind of restrictions . Also , some extensions have been declared incompatible with firefox android yet they were very compatible with the previous versions. The about:config menu is no longer available and i constantly use it for my manual! proxy configurations and disabling<media.peerconnection.enabled> which should be togged fo <false> . It exposes the internet default IP address even when conncted to a vpn . I used to have more control on these features but now everything is limited. Please make an effort of including more options about the browser as it was the case before in your next update. Very important. I need that because thats why i love and use Firefox. Thank you.

Firefox for Android offers an internal list of available extensions, which is pretty short at the moment. More get added every version or two, but I expect that it will remain limited for quite a while.
The Nightly version of Firefox for Android, which is the cutting edge development version, allows installing a personalized collection of add-ons that you build on the Add-ons site. I have not tried it myself, but you can find more information here: https://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2020/09/29/expanded-extension-support-in-firefox-for-android-nightly/
Nightly also allows access to about:config.
So to see how these features might improve your experience, you could give it a try. Nightly installs side-by-side with the regular release so it shouldn't disrupt your existing data. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.mozilla.fenix
Firefox nightly also has the same problem of addon compatibility. This is extremely annoying . Why are you specifying what addon i need like you are the ones using the browser ? This is completely unacceptable. Return the extensions compatibility as it was before because you have restricted access of certain extensions on android claiming they are incompatible. That is a lie. If you keep doing this , i will just shift to a browser that suits me because i just cant understand who made that choice of limiting the number and type of extension i need to install. i have tried disabling <xpinstall.signatures.required> and its not working. Redirect to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/android/ is still happening . Get rid of this message <To find add-ons compatible with Firefox for Android, click here.> Just whitelist android in the list of operating systems like mac, linux and windows. Removing or trying to restrict features that were previously working fine is a big mistake. Am shifting to new browser because you don't seem to listen to issues address by users. This problem has been there for more than 3 months and no one seems to be interested in solving it. Well, i guess you don't have to waste alot of resources in developing something the consumer cant enjoy . That's a big failure. I cant even install my favorite vpn extensions . The android browser is now a mess . You gonna lose a enormous number of people who use firefox for testing APis and other functionalities in the versatile android browser. You are making the wrong decision by limiting customization. I use firefox alot and that's why am concerned. Take note or else am out . Thanks
Can i install the addons via file upload ?

Were you able to create a collection and get your Nightly to read it as described in the blog? Where did you run into problems?
