Clearing cookies and cache does not stop tracking by website

I've cleared my cache, deleted all cookies, shut down Firefox and restarted it, and even went so far as to shut down my desktop computer and restart it, BUT, I still have problems with a website tracking me. How are they tracking me? What am I missing? How do I erase or delete all traces of my having visited that website?

Thanks in advance.

Guy.

Hi

What session data is kept that makes you think that you are tracked ?

Do you leave a tab open with this website, so it is restored ?

I am not aware of any "session data" that is kept; when I access the website again after closing down Firefox and rebooting my computer, I keep getting an error message stating that I am blocked from the website (even though I haven't tried to sign in or anything else of that nature).

No, I do not leave a tab open. I fully closed down Firefox and restarted it, at least three times, and one time I shut down my computer entirely and then rebooted it.

You can remove all data stored in Firefox for a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History -> Show All History" or "View -> Sidebar -> History").

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox for this domain like history and cookies and passwords and exceptions and cache, so be cautious. If you have a password or other data for that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.

You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of involved files.

If you revisit a 'forgotten' website then data for that website will be saved once again.
