Furthermore, I have made hundreds of notes describing this problem, and I could also make some images of the error screen/s for your better info re this issue - just let me know WHAT OTHER INFO you'd need and enclose YOUR DETAILED instructions how to correctly prepare and send it to you, please! ...Just some last notes: - we have 2 PC's: HP Laptop (with wireless Internet connection), which is the one with this Thunderbird Emailing problems, and then I have a Gateway DESKTOP-PC (with wired Internet connection) with which I had the same Emaling-issue just ONE MONTH AGO ...this is really crazy! With the DESKTOP-PC I was lucky that the Yahoo 'miraculously' displayed an Option to 'accept a less secured device' (CAN'T remember the exact wording!) to allow me to get connected with my DEFAULT Email-Program THUNDERBIRD - and this 'Option' ELIMINATED this problem INSTANTLY ...really crazy, therefore this issue MUST BE FIXED ASAP so that many other very satisfied Thunderbird users do NOT suffer as we had in the past ... - we had been FRONTIER's customers for over 10 years (after the Fiber Optic installation) and NEVER had Emailing Internet problems (!), and that's why we'd like to keep our original FRONTIER Email addresses: lhorsak@frontier.com (this LAPTOP), and thorsak@frontier.com for my DESKTOP. You have updated your incoming accounts to use oauth. Once you have done that you should not see the issue again. So what exactly is the error message you are currently getting? Have you disabled cookies in Thunderbird? They are essential for oauth to work.

Hi Matt: MANY THANKS for trying to help me in eliminating this TERRIBLE restriction by YAHOO SERVER (pop.mail.yahoo.com) to refuse accepting connection by THUNDERBIRD stating that I quote: 'THUNDERBIRD is a "less secure" non-Yahoo app' ...!!! In Thunderbird BELOW Ver 68.5 you could apparently enable an Option to allow apps that use less secure sign-in in Yahoo Account ...!, however, my PC (LAPTOP) has TB Ver 78.1 and there is NOT this Option! And to answer your questions: - I'm using constantly the oauth setting & with cookies in TB turned on ALL the TIME - so obviously, this setting does NOT WORK as you suggest for some strange reason, eh ?!? - ERROR MESSAGES I'm getting: 1) while trying to start Thunderbird, instead of its log-in overlay the YAHOO log-in screen is displayed (!) in spite of that I have THUNDERBIRD set up ALWAYS as the DEFAULT for Emailing and YAHOO displays in the Taskbar 'thorsak@frontier.com: Connected to pop.mail.yahoo.com' 2) after about 1/2 min or longer - Yahoo displays the following 'Connection to server pop.mail.yahoo.com time out'.
