I've used Startpage for my search engine for years but now Mozilla is making it very difficult to use. It's now requiring a "trust" permission to use Startpage.

How do I trust Startpage? I've explored a bit but any explanations or guidance is buried deep in endless technical explanation. I need clear guidance.

What exactly asks Firefox you to do? A screenshot of the requests that pops up might help, or cite the whole text Firefox displays.

That said I'd like to note that you can add search engines to Firefox' url bar, you don't need to open Startpage itself. See the One Click section on the Search page in the settings.
