icons greyed out for no reason
RE Firefox browser: Since the invention of the wheel. every Microsoft Window that you open has those three little icons in the very top right of the screen. (minimize, maximize and close.) Why in the world would anyone make them 'greyed out’ and thus harder to click on? They are in constant use. It completely baffles me.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
Are you using Windows 10 or Windows 11 ?
Win 10 I is just boggling to think someone who actually uses Firefox could purposefully make these icons so hard to click on. What do you think?
Are those items also disabled in the System menu (Alt+Space) ?
Make sure you run Firefox in desktop mode and not in tablet mode.
They are not disabled - they are just very thin, washed out symbols that are difficult to even find and click on on that grey background.
Those are the most used symbols on Windows. They should be in bold black on a white background,
I see this over and over. Websites designed by frustrated artists who are more concerned with cosmetics than functionality or ease of use.
Can anyone explain the thinking behind this design? Or doesn't anyone care?
Maybe try another Windows theme to see if you can find one with better appearance, assuming that you have the title bar enabled. With the window title bar disabled/hidden those buttons or drawn on the Tab bar (or Menu bar) and might be affected by the Firefox theme you are using.

Just open the browser to any web site. Look in the top right where God and Bill Gats put the three icons. Some on thought it was 'cute' dim them out. Why make things hard when it can be so easy?
Tried troubleshooting safe mode. No change. I have now opened this browser on two other computers belong to friends. Those three icons in the top right are very dim now in three different computers.
Maybe I am nit picking but when obvious problems are evident effecting usability and functionality I have to say "what were they thinking"?
Both other computer owners agree that it is hard to see these faint thin black icons on alight grey background. What is so hard about designing the program with large, black icons on white background?
My 2 friends and I must be the only ones seeing this. So, it sounds to me like the wagons have circled and I am a discontent, best to be ignored.
