I have Firefox on an old MacBook which hasn't had its macOS updated for a couple of years, and a new Mac running up-to-date Monterey. In both, Firefox has just developed the same problems at the same time: pages won't load, and the program won't shut down normally -- I have to use force quit. Safari works fine and I've tried all the usual solutions, bar deleting and reloading the app. I don't want to do that yet since the problem is the same on two different computers and an old and a new macOS. Since Firefox has recently updated, has that caused the problem?

edited iOS to macOS as iOS is a mobile OS for iPhones and moved thread to (desktop) Firefox section.

Replying to my question above -- Firefox started working again after I switched off and switched back on firewall.

That was very good work. Well Done. Please flag your last post as Solved Problem as this can help others with similar problems. Go to that post and click the 'Solved' button to its right.

Thanks, Fred. Can't see a 'solved' bitton, only three dots, which don't yield anything useful. So added a solved tag. Apologies for being button blind.
