I don't know what it is that I need to do because they haven't said. I just got an email saying I need to secure my account or I will be unable to use it. What do I have to do? Can you please tell me?

If by GMX you are referring to Gmail, yes - they are introducing extra security on their email accounts. Their support team should be able to help you with this.

Hi

Which account are you trying to secure? Who was the email from?

Hi I received an email from FE-ED-BA-CK, saying "Customer Alert. Customers who fail to secure their accounts by 4th March will no longer have access to their emails". Or something similar with a lot of scary words.

The email was most disconcerting because alot of the text was in red. Yesterday after resigning myself to whatever fate awaited me, I decided to use one of their links which informed me that everything was ok with my system.

It also said that using a GMX App downloaded from Google Playstore would simplify things. I have used the App right from the start so I am thinking that everything must be ok.

The deadline date is here and I still have access to my account, so I think I worried unnecessarily.

Thank you for reaching out to assist though. I appreciate it.

Hi

That does not sound like an email from Mozilla. I recommend contacting the support team for the organisation that sent that email.

Hi I am a bit of a technophobe so I don't know how to forward it to you to show it to you, but I think you are right. None of the questions I've asked GMX support have come close to answering anything I have asked. I don't think I have anything to worry about. Probably a scam. I did try to address the issue with the sender but they have never replied via the address of the original message because it's a do not reply address.

I sent replies to GMX support who must think I've got a screw loose but I've satisfied myself that there is nothing amiss by using a link sent by the original address that only served to reassure me as it says my System Status is fine, and everything is working as it should.

I deleted it now. I'm only concerned because it would seem that there was nothing sent to you about having to secure accounts for GMX 2022. I don't imagine it did any harm, nor will it in the trash I suppose?

Hi No not referring to Gmail referring to GMX which is Mozilla I think? You are replying to me in my GMX email account. Jackie
