After turning on the privacy.resistFingerprinting to True, Firefox in Windows 10 has stopped launching in maximized view in spite of having selected the Maximized option in the properties of the Firefox app shortcut. Once I return the privacy.resistFingerprinting setting to False, Firefox resumes to launch maximized. Is there a way to have both to work friendly?

I am using Firefox 97.0.2.

Resist Fingerprinting gives you screen dimensions rounded to the nearest 200x100, so this is expected behavior and you need to accept this if you want to use this feature. You will also be on the UTC timezone and other settings are locked (user agent is 91.0 ESR).

I hope Mozilla takes a look at separating the Resist Fingerprinting feature and other settings such as those brought up here. Meanwhile, I installed the Canvas Blocker extension which claims that it blocks fingerprinting. It has not changed the maximized view of Firefox.

If you enable "Resist Fingerprinting" than you enable the full RFP feature and this involves making changes to a lot of settings. This RFP feature is merely aimed at the Tor project where privacy is important and the changes it involves are acceptable.
