Skysports.com always asks me to select cookie options. Allow or View options and reject. I always choose the second one. The problem is. I can never choose the options. Opera browser, a better browser than this one, shows the options and allows me to choose. Sky just shows the same box every single page and I have to go through the same sequence every time.

Are you referring to these Options (see attached) which I can Select then Save and Exit?

more options

Yes but skysports is different. There is a box that says View options or reject but when I choose that it closes and does not give a choice. The next page and the next etc brings up the same dialogue. Annoying. I can choose on Opera so why not F.F?

That screenshot is from SkySports. After I Save and Exit it never re-appears. I can also save the cookies for the site and when I re-visit, the Options are saved as well.

The image I get is not the same as yours. All I see is the image I have added. When I Click on the View options or reject the box goes away and that's it. There is no choice to look at cookie details or anything else. The process is repeated on every page. I do not want to save any cookies.

Dropa I have read everything I need to read. at That question is not a bit helpful . The problem has occurred since the new cookie policy and it sucks. F.F are always changing things that are of no real benefit. Why do these things never occur on other browsers?

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, DuckDuckGo PE, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block content.

Firefox shows a purple shield instead of a gray shield at the left end of the location/address bar in case Enhanced Tracking Protection is blocking content.

  • click the shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection

You can check the Web Console for relevant-looking messages about blocked content.

You can try these steps in case of issues with webpages:

You can reload webpage(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the Cache and remove the Cookies for websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Settings).

"Remove the Cookies" for websites that cause problems:

  • Settings -> Privacy & Security
Cookies and Site Data: "Manage Data"

"Clear the Cache":

  • Settings -> Privacy & Security
Cookies and Site Data -> Clear Data -> [X] Cached Web Content -> Clear

Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or userChrome.css is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Troubleshoot Mode start window

I have had the same extensions for years no new ones used. I do not have any of those you mention. Also have the same Add-ons, extensions on Opera and do not have any problems. To be frank I don't think you know what you are talking about. FF is fn garbage.

I realize there is a terrible irony to this, but without allowing the site to set at least enough cookies to recognize that you don't want cookies, the site thinks you are new user on every single page. Cookies are what allow sites to maintain continuity of a user session.

Actually, there is a second option, which is to include a session ID in the page address (you may see, for example, SID=long-gibberish-text-numbers at the end of the URL). But if a site isn't designed for pure cookie-less operation, blocking all cookies may prevent normal use.

The only reasonable solution for you is -

Uninstall Firefox from your computer https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/uninstall-firefox-from-your-computer

and enjoy your "better browser"

At least Opera , (Been using that since 2000), help is actual help and not just conjecture or guesswork. At least Opera does not come up with dumb messages such as the authenticity of the received data could not be verified Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

How the hell is anyone supposed to contact the site owner if the thing won't load? Really?

Opera does not put restrictions on how I use my computer or which sites I visit.

Agreed, that sentence too vague. Does that error page have a code similar to SEC_ERROR_SOMETHING -- either immediately visible or after you click an Advanced button -- which would aid us in tracking down the source of the problem? This article lists common causes for common error codes: How to troubleshoot security error codes on secure websites.

Although most people are not intentionally using a proxy server, Firefox may discover one set up in your system settings. Sometimes forcing Firefox to ignore those settings helps with weird connection issues. Here's how:

Open the Settings page using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > Settings
  • (menu bar) Tools > Settings
  • type or paste about:preferences into the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it

In the very tiny search box at the top of the page, type proxy and Firefox should filter to the "Network Settings" section of the page.

Click the Settings button, change the top setting to "No Proxy" and then click the OK button at the bottom of the dialog to save your change.

Any difference?
