Hi!

So I'm currently using Google Authentication for my Firefox 2fa codes. However, that app is stuck offline and there is no way to get it to connect back online. I'm thinking of using another app to generate the Firefox codes. However, if I do so, by scanning the Firefox generated QR code to set up the code in the app, will this result in;

1. Having to generate a new backup code for Firefox (recovery key) 2. Voiding the generated keys on the other app I am using.

Thank you!

To get a new QR code to setup the Authenticator app, you need to disable 2FA and re-enable 2FA via the Firefox Account Settings page. If necessary, use one of the 10-digit 2FA recovery codes to access the Settings page. Do not confuse the 10-digit 2FA recovery codes and the 32-character recovery key to bypass a forgotten password. Disabling 2FA and re-enabling 2FA will invalidate previously generated recovery codes and you will have to generate and save the new set. You can also backup the QR otpauth:// code to be able to re-initialize an Authenticator app without the need for scanning a new QR code.
