115.0.3 on macOS 13.5 failing to complete authentication with FIDO2 Security Key

I've been attempting to use FIDO2 w/ PIN support to log into Okta. This occurs with a pre-registered security key (Yubikey 5C NFC on most recent firmware) that has a PIN already configured. This key works on all other browsers and devices without trouble. Firefox is unresponsive to Yubikey interaction after the notice "Touch your security key to continue with <company>.okta.com" and will eventually time out if I do not cancel.

On the other hand, I can register a new security key on Okta through Firefox on this device. When I go through the registration workflow, Firefox is responsive to all interactions, allowing me to enter my PIN and complete registration.

I have been able to replicate this issue on other computers and with a different user / security key.

This issue may be specific to Okta+Firefox. I've been able to complete successful registration and authentications on a couple of sandbox sites.

Hi there! I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with FIDO2 authentication on Okta using Firefox. It seems like there might be a specific problem with the interaction between Okta and Firefox. Since you mentioned that the security key works on other browsers and devices without any trouble, it's likely not an issue with the key itself.

To troubleshoot this, I recommend trying a few things. First, ensure that your Firefox browser is up to date. Sometimes, updating to the latest version can resolve compatibility issues. You can also try clearing your browser cache and cookies, as these can sometimes interfere with authentication processes.

If the problem persists, you may want to reach out to Okta's support team to see if they can offer any insights or solutions specific to their platform.

I hope this helps, and I'm here to assist further if needed. Good luck!
