How to set default dictionary in thunderbird ?

Ive downloaded an alternative dictionary for thunderbird but it keeps defaulting back to english US.

How can i change this ?

Try going to Settings > General > Language ... and click Set Alternatives. Move the one you want to the top. OK. That should hold it.
