How do I reinstate the content of my email messages?

I can search and find them, one by one, and resend them to myself. But where are they? Can I restore them all with one operation?

Also, I hate the threads... not liking the latest update. Can I uninstall it?

Some of the messages in my my inbox were blank. When I searched thunderbird for them, sometimes the message was intact. Other times the message was in code or completely blank. I couldn't detect a pattern.

Now, I find Thunderbird has done strange things with the threads. The meassages are not repeated in full but are truncated and appear as attachemnets.

This might explain why some of the messages in the inbox were disrupted when the update occurred.

So far I haven't received an answer as to how to find the messages that are currently in code or completely blank.

Make sure you have this view: View > Folders > All

Then try repairing the folder to see if the index has gone awol.

  • Right click on Inbox and select 'Properties'
  • Click on 'Repair folder'
  • click on 'OK'
  • Select another folder and reselect Inbox.

I tried that and the result was that now even the title line is blank. These items were well and truly wiped out. Thankfully I didn't have many items in the inbox and it is working now, more or less. I don't like how the threads are truncated but I suppose i will get used to it... Thanks for your attention to my problem!
