When I am in my thunderbird email it quits responding. I can be trying to access a link, or send a message or open a message and I get a response ?Thunderbird is not responding. This "non-response can last several minutes. Once it appears it then appears with great regularity.

Still In Windows safe mode, start Thunderbird in Troubleshoot Mode - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-mode-thunderbird
Does problem change?
