Hi Nalin, I think you're confusing 'tag' with '[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tab_%28GUI%29 tab]'. I don't think there is any way to set this behaviour thru the standard settings in Firefox currently, except thru the advanced [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firefox_:_FAQs_:_About:config_Entries about:config] settings, but there are some very handy add-ons that can make it do exactly what you want it to, very easily. The [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2221/ NewTabURL] addon sounds like just the solution for you - you can set it to open either "Blank page", "Home page", "Current page" or a user defined URL.
