I upgraded my FF at the same time I posted , the recurring notice was that which showed up before each time the program opens, but only if as I did you choose NOT to add those particular add-ins. The ultimate solution was under tools as you suggested, (though not advanced) Thanks for the help!

1. The version of Firefox that you posted here with is two major versions behind the current release 3.6.x, and it is missing the last 6 security / stability updates that the 3.0 had issued 3.0.19 was the last. The version you have - 3.0.13 - was released in Aug 2009, so it's been awhile since your Firefox program has received any updates.

2. As far as updates for addons, it looks like Foxclocks received an up date in January, April, and twice in May; that's hardly in the "incessant" category, IMO.

3. If you don't want to receive updates at all, go to Tools > Addons >> Advanced and look at the Update option Tab. Uncheck the items you don't want any updates for.
